Cleaning Supervisor

Main Purpose

Cleaning Supervisor will be overseeing the day-to-day operation of second or third shift custodians and providing custodial services at assigned site; ensuring an attractive, sanitary, and safe environment for employees, staff and visitors; performing a variety of special cleaning operations. He will also ensure that cleaning, sanitizing and disinfection protocols have been followed by the cleaning operatives as per the company approved GBAC star.

Accountabilities

• Ensure work standards of efficiency, punctuality and appearance are maintained by personnel.

• Spot checks and inspection are to ensure acceptable standards of service are maintained by the cleaners.

• Ensure client satisfaction.

• Log any deviation to the routine schedule and any special jobs carried out.

• Perform daily round, initiating contact with clients, staff, customers, and others in the workplace.

• Ensure availability and maintenance of consumables, machinery and other supplies required by the department.

• Maintain and keep record of all the competed work, incident report, material records and monthly consumption duty records.

• Monitor and prepare materials requisition as per location.

• Prepare daily reports, work schedules, and provide input for monthly reports as required.

• Ensure all consumables are regularly checked for expiration dates and that the labels are changed as per the contents inside the containers.

Operational

• Ensure that all contents inside the pantry cabinets are stored correctly and in an orderly manner.

• Report any loss, theft, damage, or strange behavior/incident to management.

• Monitor waste management and should have knowledge of hazardous waste management.

• Monitor pest control services on site.

• Motivate staff to work efficiently and effectively.

• Monitor and evaluate staff performance – impart on job trainings and whatever is required.

• Record any absenteeism, late arrivals, and request for leave.

• Minimum certification in cleaning (NSRS) or the equivalent.

• Diploma or associate degree or equivalent, preferred in Hotel Management

 • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in a similar position & capacity.
