Main Purpose

Deputy Commercial Manager will provide support to the Commercial Manager with commercial efforts to further support the Operational Management Team. Financial planning and budgeting are an important aspect of this job. The  Deputy Commercial Manager will be also responsible for overseeing staff and service contractors to ensure that deadlines are met.

They are responsible for developing a commercial strategy the aligns with the business needs and imbedding key performance deliverables within our supply chain partners that continually demonstrate a value for money solution.

Accountabilities

  • Responsible for overseeing staff and contractors to ensure that deadlines are met. If issues arise with contractors, the Deputy Commercial Manager will work with them to resolve the problem as quickly as possible so as not to affect any operational requirements.
  • Examines company commercial procedures to make sure they stay relevant, and makes recommendations for necessary changes.
  • Looks for opportunities to grow the business through income expansion of existing contracts with clients, whether through partnerships or new initiatives, and works to take advantage of those opportunities.
  • Analyses sales and other reports that give insight into how a company can make adjustments to improve performance.
  • Works with Contract Managers and their supporting staff.
  • Resolves issues with client on the contracts.
  • Communicates with parties in a contract so that all understand the terms, particularly a contract's commercial and budget aspects.
  • Assesses risks and makes recommendations based on a thorough analysis of all factors involved in a business situation.
  • Provides financial and commercial leadership to the company;
  • Motivates and directs the commercial team members so that they produce consistent, high-quality performance in accordance with the company values.
  • Manages all aspects of subcontract delivery.
  • Promotes at all times FMM’s safe working culture.
  • Accountable for meeting team's objectives through demonstrating a leadership style.
  • Works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to build a sustain strong senior level partnerships.

Operational

Qualification

Essential

  • Bachelor's degree in Commercial management or Quantity surveying.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience, preferably with experience within the Middle East.
  • Proven ability in leadership, team building, time management, driving results, innovation, negotiation and customer management.
  • Commercial management, IT skills, good numeric skills and ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Excellent communication skills, business acumen and exemplary work ethics.

Preferred

  • Post graduate degree or MBA.
